ModelWork Redesigned & Relaunched using ModelManager System
Monday, November 30, 2009
We've just completed a redesign of ModelWork.ca, incorporating some very nifty features to make the site not only much more useable for talent agents, but also for our client to keep updated and current.
Here's a run-down of what we did.
New Design
The goal was to increasing branding visibility while having a clean design which let the model pictures speak for themselves.
Create a ModelManager Module
The client brief was to replace their in-house model management system and go strictly online. So we developed a ModelManager module to our Content Management System which allows the client to add, edit and delete models including adding portfolio pictures, polariod shots, video as well as the usual model stats.
Visually arrange model & photo order
One of the neatest (and user-friendly!) components we created was a 'click-and-drag' method to change the viewing order of models, and also their portfolio shots.
Add a Casting Room Feature
The casting room is a very handy feature that works two-fold:
1) it allows a site visitor to add & remove models to a virtual casting room. At any point the visitor can either email this casting room to themselves, to another person, or to a ModelWork agent. The visitor can also save the Casting Room ID # and enter it at a later date to retrieve that specific casting room.
2) ModelWork agents can create a casting room and email the package to clients. The email will contain a list of models, including their main portfolio image, with direct links to that model's page
Comp Sheets
When visiting a model's page, or when viewing their casting room, the visitor can print a comp sheet in a variet of formats (thumbnails, 2 per page, 1 per page)
Social Networking
A Twitter feed was added, as well as a link to the client's Facebook page
